ALL ABOUT ME!
I was born in Brooklyn NY on Feb 12. The year of 19 none of your damn business! When I was around 6 years old my parents made the pilgrimage to a brand new house for us in Queens NY. I had a great childhood growing up in Queens with my family. I have three siblings. Kelvin is the eldest., then Larry, me and my lil and only sister Sonya. Because of my parents hard work and great teachings we all became a success as adults. We all have great careers and it’s because of my parents. Queens was a great place to grow up. I did all the stuff regular kids do. You know basketball, football, etc, etc.

   I had a lot of jobs before I started in radio, television and films. I don’t want to name them all cause most of them sucked! I was a security guard, horse walker at a race track and mailroom clerk, just to name a few of my jobs. In 1989 I got my break into the industry on Yo! MTV Raps. Before that I was in a top 40 band for a long time.

  I wanna take this time out to thank all of my lifelong friends who were in the band with me for making me the man that I am today. Also Mama Pearl for allowing us to rehearse in her house for so many years. I played trumpet and I wasn’t very good. But I had style and personality. Sometimes all you need to make it in this world is a chance. The late Ted Demme and the living Mark Skeete were both very instrumental in making my dream a reality. I’m very thankful for all the love these two brothers gave me. Knowing my limited ability at the time, they both saw something in me and allowed me to shine. Yo! MTV Raps was a great time for me and lasted for 6 and a half years. It allowed me to do different TV shows and films. I’ll attach a fact sheet so you can see some of the stuff that I’ve done. After Yo! MTV Raps, we went on to Hot 97 radio in NY. We were the first hip-hop radio morning show in America. I’m very proud of that fact. After the breakup of the show on Hot 97, Dre and I went to Los Angeles to work on the radio there. It didn’t work out and in the year of 2002 we came back to NY and here we are working on Power 105.1.

  My life has been filled with a lot of ups and downs and I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been married and divorced. I’ve been in love and dumped on more than one occasion. I’ve been fired and out of work. Found work on TV that I really wasn’t feeling, and work in film that I’m really proud of. I’ve made great friends and learned to despise some people. Most folks are good at heart and a lot are really selfish. I’ve been lucky and I’m really blessed. Maybe one day I’ll write a book about the experience. Maybe, maybe not? It’s all in Gods hands. The highlight of my life? My children! Tiffany, Chanel, Zyaire and Summer! They are what it’s all about. Period! ed.
